We melt and clean raw comb using the solar wax melter we built here at Timber‑Hill River. It’s slow, steady work — sunlight, heat, and time — and it keeps the wax pure without chemicals or shortcuts.
If you’ve got trash comb, brood comb, rescue comb, or anything you don’t want to deal with, we’ll take it off your hands at no charge. Good wax shouldn’t end up in the trash, and we’ll put it to use here in the refuge.
If you want the wax back, that’s where the melt service comes in. Every type of comb behaves differently, so the cost matches the condition of what you bring:
You choose the melt based on what you’re bringing in and whether you want the wax returned.
This isn’t a commercial operation. It’s a practical service that keeps good wax out of the trash and puts a little support back into the refuge.
All proceeds go directly toward the bees and the land we care for.
