Do you charge for rescues?

Most rescues are free.

Fees only apply when construction work is required.

 

Do you remove swarms?

Yes. - Swarm removal is always free.

What happens to the bees afterward?

They are stabilized at the refuge and given a safe place to rebuild.

 

Do you kill bees?

No. Bees are never destroyed.

 

Do you use vacuums?

Yes — we use the Colorado Bee Vac, which is designed specifically for live bee rescue and does not harm bees. Suction is fully adjustable, gentle, and tuned for brood‑safe removal. Bees are collected calmly, without injury, and transferred into the catch box where airflow is controlled.

We still remove as much comb and brood by hand as possible, because keeping the nest structure intact is always the priority. The vac is used only when needed and only in ways that protect the colony.

 

Do you repair structures afterward?

We seal openings so bees cannot return. Major repairs are the homeowner’s responsibility.

 

How long does a rescue take?

Anywhere from one hour to several hours, depending on placement and structure.

 

Do you remove aggressive colonies?

Yes. Aggressive colonies are just handled with additional protective steps.

 

Do you remove honey?

Honey is collected cleanly and returned to the bees during stabilization.

 

Can you come the same day?

Often, yes — especially for swarms or urgent cases.

 

Why do you do this?

Because colonies deserve a chance to live, and most will be destroyed if no one steps in.
